American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a non-invasive cardiovascular unit, requiring ARDMS or CCI certification and a minimum of 3 years of echocardiography experience.

Details

• Non-invasive cardiovascular unit in a hospital setting
• Adult patient population with a focus on cardiac imaging and stress testing
• Procedures include 2D echocardiograms, Doppler studies (color flow, pulsed wave, continuous wave, M-Mode), contrast echocardiography, TEE assistance, dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms, and cardiolite/pharmacological stress testing
• Monday through Friday day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week; shift start times range from 6:45 AM to 7:30 AM
• Rotating on-call coverage on weekdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• May float to affiliated hospital campuses within the health system
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of applicable echocardiography experience
• Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required
• ARDMS or CCI (Echocardiography) certification required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• License required if applicable
• Proficiency in recognizing cardiac abnormalities, imaging artifacts, and distinguishing normal from abnormal findings
• Knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy, patient positioning, and transducer selection
• Experience with ultrasound equipment controls and digital archive systems
• Proficient in conducting pediatric echocardiograms
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Performs high-quality 2D echocardiograms of the heart and great vessels, including identification of EKG abnormalities and arrhythmias
• Utilizes Doppler techniques (color flow, pulsed wave, continuous wave, M-Mode) to assess blood flow, valvular function, and ventricular performance
• Assists cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and stress echocardiography procedures
• Recognizes congenital heart malformations, acquired pathologies, and surgical procedure outcomes
• Participates in a regional mobile echo/vascular service
• Completes quarterly competency assessments in stress lab, Holter monitoring, and event monitoring
• Correlates clinical history with exam findings and communicates results to the cardiologist in a timely manner
• Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within this health system
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
