American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a 36-hour day shift contract at a TJC Stroke-accredited hospital in Charlotte, NC.

Details

• Work in a 244-licensed-bed hospital with a full radiology suite including X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine, supported by Radiology Nursing staff
• MRI department serves ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient populations, with a high volume of medical device patients
• Anesthesia-assisted cases are performed as needed; cardiac imaging is not offered in this department
• Department averages approximately 23 MRI studies per day, with higher volume on weekdays
• Equipment includes 1 GE 1.5T SIGNA Artist 450W
• EMR is Epic with Epic Radiant RIS; PACS is Philips iSite
• Schedule is 12-hour day shifts totaling 36 hours per week: Mondays and Tuesdays 8:00 AM–8:30 PM, Thursdays 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• ARRT(R) or NMTCB, and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required
• Current BLS required
• License required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include verifying and examining patient orders, performing complete patient interviews and medical history reviews, preparing and administering IV contrast per departmental protocols, and evaluating image quality in consultation with a Radiologist as needed
• Technologist is responsible for the full exam cycle from start through dictated results, including documenting contrast administration in the MAR and entering orders in the radiology computer system
• Assists anesthesia and other medical personnel during MRI-guided procedures; maintains strict MRI safety protocols for staff and patients in and around magnetic fields
• Performs basic patient care functions and initiates life support measures when necessary, while adhering to infection control, bloodborne pathogen, and radiation safety policies
• Guest services and transport support is available for inpatient, observation, and ED patients; tech assistant support is available on overnight shifts
• Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) and up to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• RTO requests require Resource Team approval
• Black scrubs required
