American Traveler is seeking an Endoscopy Tech with 2+ years of endoscopy experience for a 13-week day shift travel contract in Las Cruces, NM.

Details

• Work in the Endoscopy unit of an acute care hospital in Las Cruces, NM
• Day shift, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
• On-call rotation required: one full week at a time, covering 3:00 PM–6:00 AM weekdays and 7:00 AM–7:00 AM on weekends
• Average of 15–18 cases per day, with 7–8 cases on Saturdays
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Advanced endoscopic procedures performed include complex ERCP, SPYGlass (cholangioscopy), EUS-guided interventions, ESD, POEM, endosuturing, Overstitch, and more
• Uses Medhost and PICIS EMR systems
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy technician experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA, ARC, or ASHI accepted)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• License required if applicable
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• CMA, CNA, or CPCT certification preferred
• GI certification, CST, or CORST preferred
• Experience assisting with complex ERCP and EUS-guided procedures preferred

Additional Information

• Prepare procedure rooms and ensure proper setup of equipment, instruments, and supplies for each endoscopic procedure
• Serve as primary assistant to the physician during advanced endoscopic procedures, anticipating physician needs and supporting patient positioning
• Perform high-level disinfection and decontamination of endoscopic equipment per manufacturer guidelines and facility policy, including leak testing and maintenance recordkeeping
• Handle, label, and document specimens and cultures in accordance with facility policy
• Monitor and maintain department supply inventory, including removal of expired items and quality control documentation
• May act as a preceptor or trainer for peers learning advanced procedures
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
• RTO requests must be for less than one week
