American Traveler seeks a licensed Radiation Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a travel assignment at a large academic, Level I trauma hospital in St. Louis, MO, working in a high-volume Radiation Oncology department with advanced treatment technology.

Details

• Work setting is a short-term acute care, academic teaching hospital with Level I trauma designation and 1,259 staffed beds
• Assignment is in the Radiation Oncology department, which operates 8 external beam treatment machines and a simulation suite with 2 CT and 1 MRI machines
• High-volume department with approximately 130 patient treatments and scans performed each day
• Patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics, spanning ambulatory, inpatient, and outpatient acuity levels
• Floating within scope is required to meet facility needs; no floating to sister facilities
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM) with a rotating day off
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Charts in Epic EHR; experience required
• Uses Aria record and verify system; experience required

Requirements

• Valid Missouri State Radiation Therapist license required at time of consideration; candidates licensed in Illinois may be considered with a pending IL license
• Active BLS and ARRT certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist required
• Experience with Aria (record and verify system) required
• Experience with Epic EHR required
• Experience on Varian TrueBeam, Halcyon, or Edge treatment machines strongly preferred for smoother clinical transition

Additional Information

• Deliver external beam radiation therapy treatments and/or perform simulation procedures across a diverse patient population
• Interviews are conducted with all applicants prior to an offer being extended due to the complexity of technology and standard work at this facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Allied health travelers may work at this facility for up to 12 consecutive months, after which a 6-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees of this facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Any scrub color is acceptable
• Monthly parking passes are available near the facility at varying rates depending on lot location
