Description

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) with a minimum of 2 years of hospital OR experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Hawaii, requiring the ability to independently scrub a broad range of surgical specialties.

Details

• Hospital OR setting with 1–2 rooms running simultaneously, described as a small but busy and efficient unit
• Includes 1–2 outpatient GI/endoscopy labs
• Broad surgical case mix including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, OB, and GYN procedures
• Variable shifts operating within a 0645–2315 window based on departmental needs
• Scheduled for 40 hours per week, with the possibility of 32 hours during holiday weeks
• On-call is required 24/7 — travelers are assigned call on average 1–2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month, with a 20-minute call-back time requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of scrubbing experience in a hospital OR setting
• Ability to independently scrub a wide range of surgical specialties including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, OB, and GYN
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Active Hawaii state license required by start of assignment — license required if applicable

Additional Information

• Assist with OR turnover cleaning between cases
• Transport patients as needed
• Scrubs are provided — no personal scrubs required
• Orientation is conducted on day shift for up to one week, or at the manager's discretion
• If RTO is requested, the traveler must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract period
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
