American Traveler is hiring a travel Sonographer for a 13-week night shift assignment in an acute care hospital ultrasound department, with RDMS (AB & OB/GYN) certifications required.

• Acute care hospital setting, Level II Trauma Center
• Ultrasound department covering both inpatient and outpatient/clinic sides
• Full range of ultrasound studies performed for patients from infants through adults, including general and limited vascular imaging (dedicated vascular team on site)
• Average of 6–8 scans per tech per day; approximately 50 studies per day across the department
• Equipment includes Siemens and Philips ultrasound systems; PACS is Siemens/SECTRA
• EMR is Cerner (transitioning to Epic)
• Night shift, 10-hour shifts, 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM; 7 on / 7 off schedule running Wednesday nights through Tuesday mornings, alternating 40-hour and 30-hour weeks
• On-call required approximately once every two weeks on rotation; holiday on-call coverage required depending on rotation
• Float coverage between inpatient and clinic areas as needed
• May be the only technologist in the department during certain shifts, particularly nights

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of sonography experience
• Active BLS (AHA) certification required
• RDMS – Abdomen (AB) via ARDMS required
• RDMS – OB/GYN via ARDMS required
• License required if applicable
• Experience with procedural imaging strongly preferred, particularly paracentesis and/or thoracentesis
• Ability to work independently as the sole technologist in the department
• 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Performs a full range of ultrasound studies across general imaging for infant through adult populations, with limited vascular support (primary vascular imaging handled by a separate team)
• Radiologist coverage is available on-site from 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Nighthawk remote coverage from 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Orientation is up to one week and includes computer-based training, system access setup, and supervised floor time during the first few days
• Scrubs are not provided and there is no assigned color requirement

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date, and hospital approval is required
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a reduced pay rate
