American Traveler is hiring a Travel Ambulatory Endoscopy Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and SGNA certification for a 13-week assignment at an ambulatory surgery center in San Marcos, TX.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting specializing in GI/Endoscopy procedures
• 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, starting at 6:30 AM
• Techs are expected to remain until all cases for the day are completed
• Floating required to a nearby New Braunfels facility
• Procedures include balloon dilations, polypectomy, sphincterotomy, stent placement, and gastrostomy tube placement
• Scope reprocessing performed per ANSI/AAMI standards

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of endoscopy or OR experience preferred
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• SGNA certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• SSN required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Copies of all active certifications required for consideration — expired certifications will result in rejection
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Assist physicians and RNs with endoscopic procedures, including therapeutic interventions
• Responsible for scope reprocessing including leak testing, cleaning, inspection, high-level disinfection (HLD), sterilization, and storage per ANSI/AAMI standards
• Perform equipment safety checks, verify proper functioning, and prepare damaged scopes for repair
• Collect and deliver specimens while maintaining a sterile field
• Assist with patient monitoring setup and placement of monitors
• Ensure procedure rooms are stocked and coordinate review of special-order supply inventory for next-day cases
• Recognizes emergent situations during procedures and demonstrates ability to prioritize and support the endoscopy team
• Participate in in-service training sessions and maintain annual competencies
• Bloodborne Pathogen exposure classification: Category 1 (occupational exposure)
