American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital CVOR position requiring CT vascular specialty skills and versatility across multiple surgical service lines.

• Hospital-based Surgical Services department with a focus on CVOR
• Requires specialty experience with CT vascular procedures
• Must be versatile and able to scrub for multiple surgical service lines
• Evening shift schedule of 11am-9:30pm (MIDS)
• 40 hours per week over 4 days, 10-hour shifts
• CVOR call required

Requirements

• No prior experience required
• Completion of a Surgical Technology Program (Technical Diploma) or Associate's Degree
• BLS certification required
• National Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Functions as part of the surgical team under RN direction, performing scrub functions supporting the perioperative plan of care
• Responsible for draping, instrumentation, suturing, and equipment setup while maintaining an organized sterile field
• Accurately counts and accounts for all surgical items before, during, and after procedures
• Anticipates surgeon needs and prepares for emergency situations
• Ensures OR readiness prior to scheduled cases and minimizes turnover time between cases
• Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique, including gowning, gloving, sterilization, and disinfection methods (Steris, Sterrad, steam)
• Properly handles, labels, and disposes of medications and sharps on the sterile field
• Participates in unit activities including staff meetings, new staff orientation, and preference card updates
• Demonstrates versatility across various OR specialties and stays current on OR advancements
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and AORN Guidelines and Recommended Practices
• Completes all required safety and education training
• Maintains positive customer relations by responding promptly to needs and managing difficult situations professionally
