American Traveler is hiring a travel EEG/Sleep Tech with 2+ years of experience performing EEG and evoked potential testing, requiring ABRET or CET certification and active BLS.

Details

• Electroencephalography department in an acute care hospital setting
• Performs EEG and evoked potential testing in the EEG department and at the patient's bedside
• Patient population spans all age groups
• 12-hour day shifts, Wednesday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (36 hours/week)
• On-call requirement of 1 weekday call per week and 1 Saturday call per month
• Charting via Epic EMR
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an EEG technician
• One of the following certifications required: Board of Registered EEG Technologist (ABRET) or Certified EEG Technician (CET)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required, must not expire prior to start date
• Active license required, if applicable
• High school diploma or GED required
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Prepares patients and equipment for EEG and evoked potential examinations, determining and selecting recording parameters based on each patient's diagnosis or complaint
• Analyzes recorded data and assists in preparing results for physician review, including studying wave characteristics for evidence of brain disorders
• Completes checklists, writes clinical narratives, performs data entry, transcription, and processes physician orders per policy
• Performs routine equipment maintenance
• Graduation from an accredited EEG or END program is preferred
• Candidates who have been permanent staff at any Intermountain facility must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
