American Traveler is hiring a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) for a night shift travel contract at a hospital-based sleep lab in Bozeman, MT, requiring an active RPSGT credential and a graduate degree from an AMA-approved respiratory care or nursing program.

Details

• Hospital-based sleep disorders lab setting
• Performs comprehensive sleep disorders testing including setup, patient monitoring, and scoring of polysomnograms over 10–12 hour sessions
• Operates and troubleshoots sleep lab equipment, often independently during testing periods
• Administers therapies to patients per physician orders
• 3x12-hour consecutive night shifts per week

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school for respiratory care or nursing
• Active Montana Respiratory Therapist or RN licensure (license required if applicable)
• Current AHA BLS
• Active RPSGT (BRPT) credential required
• Minimum of 24 months of experience in sleep disorder testing preferred; routine EEG experience also preferred
• Must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, and fine motor tasks
• Must be self-directed and capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Additional Information

• Responsible for the full scope of sleep disorders testing including patient setup, monitoring, scoring, and evaluating polysomnograms
• Serves as the primary contact for physicians, patients, and outreach accounts regarding sleep disorder diagnostics and consultation
• Provides patient education on sleep disorder diagnosis, equipment, and treatment, as well as outreach education and in-services
• Technician works alone during testing periods and must be able to resolve most equipment issues without assistance
• Role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, at-times stressful environment
• May be required to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and on-call shifts
• Continuous exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious disease, various chemicals, and emotionally challenging patient situations
