American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with Neuro Spine experience for a 13-week OR travel contract at a Level 3 Trauma, 457-bed hospital in Concord, NC.

Details

• Hospital OR setting with 19 suites averaging 50 cases per day across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Surgery specialties include trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics
• 12-hour day shifts (0700–1900), 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every 4th weekend; coverage may be a scheduled shift or call shift
• On-call requirement averaging 6 call shifts per 6-week scheduling cycle with a 45-minute response time
• Call hours are 11p–7a on weekdays; 7a–7p or 7p–7a on weekends
• EMR: Epic
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of surgical technologist experience required
• Neuro spine scrub experience required
• Experience scrubbing a wide range of cases including trauma, ortho, spine, cardiac, vascular, robotics, GYN-oncology, bariatrics, and more
• Proficiency in sterile technique
• BLS certification required
• Surgical technologist certification preferred but not required
• Active license required, if applicable
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered

• Facility is a Level 3 Trauma Center with designations including Bariatric Center of Excellence, Advanced Spine Surgery Certification, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center
• Department support includes Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, OR Assistants, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers
• Orientation includes a general new employee orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• Time off requests require manager approval
• Scheduling is done on a 6-week cycle
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on-site
• Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
