Description

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of OR experience for an acute care hospital evening shift position utilizing Cerner Surginet.

Details

• Acute care hospital OR setting with 7 rooms, including 1 dedicated heart room and 6 general OR suites
• Evening shift hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM with 8-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation required, including weekend call coverage
• Holiday coverage via on-call assignment
• 1:1 patient-to-tech ratio in the OR
• Charting performed in Cerner Surginet
• Phillips telemetry and Draeger ventilators in use
• RT and pharmacy support available 24/7
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required
• COVID vaccination required
• Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
• A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Work alongside a team that includes surgical techs, nurse aides, and anesthesia techs, with a clinical coordinator serving as charge nurse
• One week of unit-specific orientation provided
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
