American Traveler is seeking an OB Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of surgical tech experience and strong OB background for a Labor and Delivery unit position.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900–0730)
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• OB surgical patient population
• Uses Epic for charting
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Tech experience with strong OB focus required
• At least 1 year of OB-specific experience as a Surgical Tech required
• Graduation from a formal, accredited Surgical Technologist program required (US military training may substitute)
• High school diploma or GED required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required and must not expire prior to start
• Surgical Technician Certificate required
• Active license required if applicable
• OB experience should be clearly reflected on resume or profile
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique throughout surgical cases
• Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to physician preference lists
• Provide instrumentation, sutures, and supplies as requested while maintaining a sterile field
• Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy
• Assist with specimen handling and preparation for laboratory analysis
• Handle implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps per established policy and standards
• Assist with timely room turnover, including cleanup, supply replacement, and equipment restocking
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital setting is preferred
• Epic charting experience is required
• Permanent staff must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• RTO requests will be approved within reason
• 13-week contract
