American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Lexington, KY, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications on a 3x12 night shift schedule.

Details

• 30-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Specializes in telemetry patients and fast-turnaround surgery including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow
• Serves Bariatric Center of Excellence patients
• Patient population primarily transferred from the ED and PACU
• 3x12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required; previous nursing experience preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
• Proficiency or trainability with computer systems and clinical applications

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitation of admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Delegates tasks to and monitors care provided by other team members in accordance with the plan of care
• Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
• Promotes a patient-centered, holistic care environment grounded in evidence-based practice
