American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency in adult 2-D & 3-D Echo, stress echo, and related vascular procedures for an outpatient cardiology setting.

• Adult outpatient cardiology clinic setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with an average of 10 visits per day
• Procedures include standard echos, 2-D & 3-D Echo, Right Ventricular Inflow/Outflow Tract (RVIT/RVOT), treadmill stress echo, bubble studies, carotid, aorta, and abdominal imaging
• Equipment includes GE ultrasound systems and treadmills
• 5x8-hour day shifts, 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM
• No call or weekend requirements
• Position requires floating between two clinic locations approximately 16.5 miles apart for 1-2 weeks during the assignment
• 13-week contract with potential for extension beyond 13 weeks
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer experience required
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Required adult echo skills: 2-D & 3-D Echo, RVIT, RVOT, and Treadmill Stress Echo
• Adult outpatient work setting experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are required prior to start

Additional Information

• Weekly orientation; duration varies based on experience and clinic needs
• Pre-start online modules (approximately 4-5 hours for non-acute roles) are required and must be completed annually; modules are completed via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes
• Candidates must be available for an interview prior to offer; manager will not extend an offer without speaking to the candidate first
• Candidates must be fully available during the first week with no other commitments, as orientation may begin mid-week and is subject to schedule changes — missing any portion may result in a delayed or canceled start
• No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval
• Candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Former permanent, PRN, or EP staff of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
• Travel pairs are allowed provided each candidate has their own transportation and is comfortable with potentially different schedules
• Scrubs are not provided
