American Traveler is hiring a Registered Echocardiogram Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Santa Fe, NM, performing diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients in a hospital cardiology setting.

• Hospital-based Cardiology Non-Invasive unit
• Adult and pediatric patient population
• Performs 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams
• Shares on-call responsibility for emergency echo exams outside of regular working hours per department policy
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience performing echocardiograms; 2 years actively performing echocardiograms preferred
• ARDMS or CCI registration, or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required
• State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required if applicable
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a 2-year allied health education program preferred
• Manual dexterity to perform echocardiograms
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and at a rapid pace
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams on adult and pediatric patients
• Assists cardiologists during exam dictation by preparing and measuring M-modes and providing pertinent diagnostic information
• Coordinates scheduling, patient transport, phone coverage, and billing accuracy with other hospital departments
• Responds to patient needs during exams and reports changes in patient condition to the appropriate clinical staff
• Maintains equipment quality control and coordinates repair services as needed
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities at the departmental and hospital-wide levels
• Assists with other cardiac procedures as needed
• Stays current on advances in echocardiography and collaborates with cardiologists to develop new skills
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a radius rule
