American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a night shift position requiring ARRT registration and BLS certification, with Cerner EMR experience in an acute care imaging setting.

Details

• CT Scan department at an acute care hospital in Mount Pleasant, SC
• Performs CT imaging of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians under the supervision of certified radiologists
• 4x10 hour night shifts, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• On-call requirement of one to two 16–24 hour call shifts every 6 weeks
• May be required to float to a sister hospital nearby
• Charting in Cerner EMR

Requirements

• ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT CT certification preferred
• Active SC or compact state license required if applicable
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
• Graduation from an accredited Allied Health or Computed Tomography program preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, lift and move patients, and push or pull up to 50 lbs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs CT exams following established protocols under radiologist supervision, including obtaining correct orders and entering diagnosis and clinical history into the system
• Responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate practices
• Instructs and prepares patients for imaging procedures and assists with obtaining informed consent as needed
• Assists in the clinical education of student radiologic technologists
• Practices radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and adheres to DHEC, TJC, and OSHA standards
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
