American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Tech with 2+ years of recent experience for a high-volume, Level I trauma acute care hospital position requiring advanced EUS, ERCP, and stent management skills.

Details

• Acute care hospital GI/Endoscopy unit with 2 procedure rooms and 15 pre-op/PACU beds
• High-volume unit averaging 20–30 advanced GI cases per day
• Common cases include EGD, colonoscopy, complex EUS, ERCP, stone management, EMR, stent placement (temporary and permanent), GI bleed, bronchoscopy, EBUS, and ION cases
• Anesthesia manages all endoscopy cases
• 4 shifts per week, 10-hour days, typically 0700–1730 with flex start times as early as 0600 based on case volume
• Weekends can include 10+ cases per day
• Rotating weeknight call coverage (typically 2 nights per week) with frequent late weekday cases
• Rotating weekend call required, often one weekend day with a lineup of 8+ cases
• Shared weekend and holiday call coverage
• On-call response time is 30 minutes
• No floating required
• Utilizes Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent GI/Endoscopy Tech experience (must be within the past 6 months)
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted
• Strong proficiency in advanced EUS, complex ERCP, and stent placement, exchange, removal, and stone management required
• Proficiency in manual scope washing and handling, HLD skills using Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro
• Independent general GI skills including biopsy, snare, GI bleed, injections, lifting agents, banding, and dilation (balloon and Savory/Maloney dilators)
• Advanced EBUS and ION skills preferred
• Level I trauma acute care experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• License required if applicable — must be active; pending licenses will not be accepted

Additional Information

• Assist with GI and advanced endoscopic procedures including scope reprocessing and high-level disinfection
• Work as part of a procedural team across 2 procedure suites
• 5-day unit-specific orientation provided
• Blue scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates (AZ requirement; driver's license used to confirm permanent address)
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit or affiliated facility (including CHI and Dignity Health) within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
