American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel contract, requiring 3+ years of experience and ARRT or ARMRIT certification, working within an expanding MRI department with state-of-the-art multi-vendor equipment.

Details

• Outpatient MRI setting within a large academic health system
• 40-hour work week with shifts spanning a department open 7 days/week from 5:30 AM–11:00 PM
• Scheduled shifts include Saturday and Sunday (6:00 AM–11:00 PM) and Thursday (2:30 PM–11:00 PM)
• Routine outpatient MRI exams performed with and without contrast, including research patient imaging
• 2-tech team model with the ability to rotate across MRI scanners within the assigned department as needed
• Epic used for EMR charting
• Free parking available at the Waltham location

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of MRI technologist experience
• Completion of a Medical Imaging Program (certificate or diploma) required; Associate's degree preferred
• Active ARRT or ARMRIT certification required; advanced MR certification required within 12 months of hire
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Proficiency with IV catheter insertion and intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, including use of MR-compatible power injector
• Competency performing routine outpatient exams with and without contrast and optimizing scan parameters based on patient condition
• License required if applicable — MA conditional licenses are not accepted
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Prepare patients for MRI exams, including positioning, setting imaging parameters, acquiring and processing images, and displaying results for clinical and research patients
• Manage MRI safety for all exams, instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures, and serve as the final safety checkpoint prior to scanning
• Identify and respond to hazardous system malfunctions and emergency situations within the magnet bay
• Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) where applicable and complete all required quality control procedures on MRI scanners and related equipment
• Consult with radiologists, nurses, and other content experts as needed to support patient care coordination
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a reduced rate
