American Traveler is hiring a travel EEG Technologist (Neurodiagnostic Tech) for a Level 1 Trauma Center near Chicago, IL, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and required Nihon Kohden software proficiency.

Details

• Works in a Neurology: EEG unit with 2 outpatient beds and 2 inpatient beds, with floating to the ICU to perform tests
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics, including seizure, stroke, trauma, gunshot, autistic, ADHD, and pseudo-seizure cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• 10-hour day shifts from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• Every weekend rotation required
• Holidays that fall on a scheduled workday are expected to be worked
• No on-call requirements
• Charting in Epic (preferred) and Nihon Kohden software (required)
• Floating limited to the ICU only

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of EEG/neurodiagnostic experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• BLS and EEG certification required (unless grandfathered in based on experience)
• Active license required, if applicable
• Nihon Kohden software experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Neonatal EEG experience required
• Proficiency in electrode placement, patient prepping, recording and measuring, pattern recognition, and head wrapping for continuous EEG
• Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Located approximately 45 minutes from Chicago in Oak Lawn, IL at a 749-bed Level 1 Trauma Center with Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status
• Supported by other EEG techs, an EEG Supervisor, RRT/Code Team, and public safety officers
• Orientation consists of 1 shift on the unit
• COVID vaccination is required
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
• Required scrub color is Caribbean Blue
