American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with liver transplant experience for a hospital OR position requiring Cerner charting and a minimum of 2 years of surgical tech experience.

Details

• Work in a large hospital OR with 22 rooms and a daily average surgical case volume of 35
• Surgical specialties include liver transplant, general, urology, thoracic, GYN, plastics, Whipple, liver resection, and free flap cases
• Uses Da Vinci XI robotic surgical system
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
• Liver transplant scrubbing experience required — candidates must be able to independently scrub liver recipient transplants
• Experience with large open belly cases, general, urology, thoracic, GYN, plastics, Whipple, liver resection, and free flap procedures required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• BLS certification required; AHA and RQI certifications accepted and must be current
• Cerner charting experience required
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and scrub role required
• Indiana or Compact license required if applicable
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required

Additional Information

• Candidates must be able to independently scrub liver recipient transplants — this is a hard stop requirement

• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Effective March 1, 2026, Indiana residents are no longer eligible to sign new contracts at this facility for OR CST (including Transplant) positions
