American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a freestanding emergency department, requiring ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience in general ED ultrasound imaging.

Details

• Work setting is a freestanding emergency department (FSED) with 12 beds, no trauma designation
• Exclusively serves ED patients with an average of 45 visits per day
• Department performs an average of 5 ultrasound studies per day
• Equipment includes Siemens Sequoia ultrasound systems and Trophon reprocessor
• EMR is Epic; RIS is Epic Radiant; PACS is Philips iSite
• 12-hour night shifts, Thursday/Friday/Saturday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (36 hours/week)
• Night shift sonographers float to support ultrasound needs at a second FSED location as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ultrasound, with most recent experience within the last year
• ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
• Current BLS required
• Active state license required if applicable
• Proficiency in general ED ultrasound imaging
• Must be willing to assist with ancillary tasks including patient rooming, vital signs, EKGs, lab/line assistance, and patient sitting when not performing imaging duties
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 1 professional reference dated within the past year required for consideration, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform general ED ultrasound imaging as the primary responsibility
• Assist with patient transport and support CT/DX technologists during high-volume periods
• When not performing radiology tasks, expected to assist with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, line and lab patients, and sitting with psych patients as needed — on-site training provided for these tasks
• Collaborative team environment with staff from multiple specialties and modalities
• Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) and up to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed

• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• Black scrubs required

• Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
