American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Tech with at least 2 years of OR experience in specialty for a 13-week hospital OR/CVOR position in Charlotte, NC working 10-hour night shifts Monday through Thursday.

Details

• Hospital OR setting with 13 ORs plus one procedure/cystoscopy room, averaging 45 cases per day
• CVOR cases include cardiothoracic (CABG, AVR, MVR, mini mitral, septal myomectomy), vascular (fistula creations, transcarotid revascularization, carotid and femoral endarterectomy, bypasses, hybrid cases), and thoracic (VATS, robotic resections, lobectomies, pericardial windows)
• Main OR cases span orthopedic, spine, general, colorectal, breast, podiatry, urology, robotic, GYN, and plastics
• Schedule is Monday through Thursday nights, 19:00–05:30 (10-hour shifts), 40 hours per week
• On-call requirements include 4–5 weeknight calls per 6-week schedule (12-hour shifts, as early as 5p–7a) and 1–2 weekend calls per 6-week schedule (Friday as early as 5p through Monday 7a)
• Weekend rotation is call only
• EMR is Epic
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
• No floating requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in specialty (CVOR CST or equivalent)
• Strong and recent experience scrubbing CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic cases required
• Experience scrubbing across multiple service lines preferred, including orthopedic, general, urology, robotic, GYN, colorectal, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastics
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology education program required prior to start
• BLS certification required
• National certification (CST or equivalent) preferred
• Active license required if applicable
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former employees who held a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
• OR orientation is approximately 1 week; CVOR orientation is approximately 2 weeks; orientation consists of five 8-hour shifts
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on-site
• Department support includes OR assistants for room turnovers, stocking, patient positioning, and table operation; receptionist/HUC; charge nurse; and 24/7 anesthesia/CRNA coverage
• A clinical interview with the manager is required
