American Traveler is hiring a General Ultrasound Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a night shift contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
• General Ultrasound unit serving adult and ER patient populations
• 4x10 night shifts, Monday–Thursday, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• No weekend requirements and no on-call requirements
• No floating within this role
• Cerner used for charting; experience preferred
• Abdominal ultrasound scope includes aorta, appendix, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and spleen
• OB/GYN ultrasound scope includes 1st trimester studies
• Renal/pelvic ultrasound scope includes bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal studies
• Small parts ultrasound scope includes superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid
• Vascular ultrasound scope includes aorta, carotid, color flow, duplex, lower extremity arterial, and renal artery duplex
• Procedure experience includes paracentesis and thoracentesis
• Transplant studies experience required for renal

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of general ultrasound experience required
• ARDMS and BLS required; AHA and Red Cross BLS accepted — RQI AHA cards are not accepted
• Active professional license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
• Experience in adult and ER settings required
• Management or lead experience required
• Knowledge of isolation precautions required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Must be in Illinois at least 3 business days prior to compliance deadline to meet fingerprinting requirements
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• RTO is ideally no more than 5 days; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
• Any time off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Free parking is available with a permit obtained during orientation
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required of all travelers
