American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 3 years of experience for a hospital OR position serving adult and pediatric surgical patients across multiple specialties in a rural Arizona community.

Details

• Works in a hospital OR serving adult and pediatric patients across multiple surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, OB/GYN, Podiatry, and Urology
• Approximately 49% of surgeries performed are outpatient/ambulatory procedures
• 10-hour shifts from 6:30am–5pm, 4 days per week (weekdays)
• On-call required, including night, weekend, and holiday rotation coverage

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician training program accredited by the AST, or equivalent on-the-job training in a clinical healthcare setting or military specialty
• CST from the NBSTSA, or TS-C (Tech in Surgery – Certified) from the NCCT; candidates without current certification must obtain it within 6 months after the 3-year qualification period
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Active state license if applicable

Additional Information

• Set up the OR prior to surgery, ensuring all required equipment and instrumentation is available and in working condition
• Assist with patient positioning, surgical prepping, draping, and establishing sterile fields across a range of surgical specialties
• Rotational on-call scheduling (nights, weekends, and holidays) begins after successful completion of established didactic, clinical, and exam requirements at the discretion of the OR SCN
• Orientation is held every 2 weeks
• COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
• This position is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations; candidates should be prepared for a remote work environment
• Housing may be available through the facility but is not guaranteed; a housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start
• Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
