American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with open heart and endovascular experience for a 13-week CVOR position at an acute care hospital in Colorado.

Details

• Acute care hospital CVOR unit with 16 suites averaging 30 cases per day
• Common cases include open heart, vascular, thoracic, general, neuro, spine, robotics, and orthopedic surgeries
• Day shift, 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• Call requirements include one weekday per month and one weekend (Fri–Sun) per month; call response time is 30 minutes and a call room is available on-site
• Holiday coverage requirements are contract-dependent
• May float to the General OR; in cases of extreme need, may float within Zone 3 facilities
• EMR system is Epic
• Orientation includes exposure to both the CVOR and General OR

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience required
• Open heart and endovascular experience required
• BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certifications are not accepted
• CST certification via NBSTSA required; pending certifications are not accepted
• Colorado DORA licensure (or applicable state license) required if applicable; active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility; a valid driver's license is required to verify permanent address
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside firms will be considered
• Travelers are expected to float within their assigned zone and are responsible for securing housing that allows them to meet this requirement
• Candidates must be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Hiring process includes a profile review followed by an interview with the unit manager
