American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and a Colorado Surgical Technologist license for a 13-week rotating shift assignment in a hospital Operating Room in Vail, CO.

• Hospital Operating Room setting in Vail, CO
• Rotating shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 13-week contract
• Patient population spans all age groups, from neonatal/infant through geriatric

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience
• Completion of a Certified or Licensed Surgical Technologist program
• Colorado Surgical Technologist license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Working knowledge of AORN standards
• Proficiency in sterile and aseptic technique

Additional Information

• Maintain the integrity of the sterile surgical field and provide instrumentation to the surgical team during procedures
• Possesses expertise in human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of surgical tools and technologies
• Monitors sterile field for contamination events and initiates or communicates corrective action as needed
• Ensures the OR environment is safe, equipment is functioning properly, and all sterile supplies meet packaging and expiration standards
• Participates fully in the Time Out Process, including pre- and post-operative Briefings and Debriefings
• Assists with patient transport, room turnovers, and room preparation
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
• Working towards or competent with Tier 1 surgical cases
• Functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse
