American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with PET/CT experience, NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification, and Epic EMR proficiency for a 26-week contract at a Level 1 Trauma facility.

Details

• Nuclear Medicine department within a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital setting
• Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging studies
• Administers IV radiopharmaceuticals via existing IV line or venipuncture
• Utilizes PACS and RIS for image transfer, scheduling, billing, and coding
• Epic EMR is used for charting
• Monday–Thursday 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, Fridays 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (8-hour day shifts)
• On-call rotation required
• 26-week contract at 40 hours per week
• May be required to float to other imaging modalities within the department for which the technologist holds applicable licensure

Requirements

• NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification required
• BLS (AHA) required
• IEMA certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Diploma or certificate in Radiologic Technology or related field required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant Nuclear Medicine experience
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Performs diagnostic studies using Nuclear Medicine and/or PET/CT equipment, including image acquisition, processing, and quality review
• Reviews patient history, labs, and radiology orders to ensure medical necessity and exam accuracy; coordinates with the ordering provider or Radiologist when additional information is needed
• Screens patients for pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing when applicable
• Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment, supply inventories, and an orderly work area; reports malfunctions and service needs promptly
• May assume duties of Nuclear Medicine Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence
• May assist in the instruction of students and new staff as needed
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract period
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system may not be on continuous assignment for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
