American Traveler is seeking a Radiation Therapist with 3-5 years of Radiation Oncology experience and required proficiency in Accuray Tomotherapy and Mosaiq for a 13-week outpatient oncology assignment in Rapid City, SD.

Details

• Outpatient-primary Cancer Care Institute setting attached to a hospital, with inpatients transported to the department as needed
• Department sees an average of 65 patients per day across all cancer types, including lung, breast, brain, head/neck, GYN, metastatic disease, and lymphomas
• 2:1 therapist-to-treatment-machine ratio; 2 therapists per CT simulation as well
• Required therapies include SBRT, Tomotherapy, EBRT, SRS, and VMAT
• Required equipment includes Accuray Tomotherapy HI.ART and Varian TrueBeam in conjunction with Mosaiq
• Preferred equipment experience includes Siemens CT Simulator GO.PRO scanner and Accuray RADIXACT
• Mosaiq charting required; Epic experience preferred
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts (0800–1630), with no weekend rotation
• No on-call or holiday requirements
• May occasionally float within the department to assist with transport, always alongside at least one other therapist

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• Active ARRT (T) certification required; SD state licensure is not required
• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program qualifying for ARRT (T) examination
• 3–5 years of Radiation Oncology-specific experience required; 5 years strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with Accuray Tomotherapy required
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam treatment machine required
• Experience with Mosaiq required
• RADIXACT experience preferred
• CT Simulation experience preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from any facility in the health system to qualify for this position
• 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Department is supported by a Supervisor of Radiation Therapy, Chief Physicist, 2 Medical Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, 3 Radiation Oncologists, 8 Radiation Therapists, 2 RNs, and 2 LPNs
• Orientation consists of 2 days: facility online orientation and a first-day unit orientation with the department supervisor
• Steel grey scrubs required

• Former permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of time off may be taken without manager approval, provided the full 13-week contract is fulfilled
