American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Illinois, requiring at least 1 year of experience, EKG/rhythm strip interpretation skills, and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Patient population includes acute cardiac cases and chronic ventilator patients
• Cardiac drip management expected, including medications such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Charting performed in Epic
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm strip interpretation required — must pass an EKG strip test at orientation
• Chronic ventilator patient experience required
• Experience with EKG required
• Competence initiating and maintaining cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem) preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing acute changes in patients and managing care in a fast-paced telemetry environment
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract
