American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU night shift position in Indianapolis, IN, requiring at least 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and active ACLS and BLS certifications.

Details

• Position is located in a 30-bed Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care unit
• Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors
• Patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Night shift hours are 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend commitment required (Friday and Saturday nights)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other inpatient areas required when the home unit is at low census
• Equipment used includes Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• EMR is Epic; experience preferred but training provided if needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required
• Strong comprehensive and neurological assessment skills required
• Experience caring for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients required
• US Social Security Number required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• EKG test required as part of the consideration process (2 attempts allowed; if not passed, candidate may reapply in 30 days)

Additional Information

• Preferred experience includes pupillometer use, EVD management, ICP waveform management, CRRT, and Epic EMR
• Orientation consists of modules completed on the first day, Epic training if needed, and one day of on-unit orientation
• Navy scrubs required; hoodies are not permitted
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but may be considered at a different rate
