American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Continuing Care position at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Albemarle, NC, requiring at least 18 months of SNF/LTC experience and a valid NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a 90-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) providing short-term and long-term rehabilitative care
• Patient population includes individuals recovering from stroke, amputation, neurological disorders, and post-joint replacement surgery; no memory care patients
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 12-hour shifts at 36 hours per week
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:26 on nights
• Support staff includes nursing leadership, an admin nurse (handling ~1–2 admissions per day), HCTs, therapists, and case management
• EMR is Epic; IV pump is Alaris; medication dispensing is via Omnicell
• Weekend rotation varies — every other or every third weekend depending on unit need
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating is required within the Continuing Care region to the following facilities as needed: Cleveland Pines, Huntersville Oaks, Jesse Helms, Sardis Oaks, and Stanly Manor — candidates not agreeable to floating should not apply

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 18 months of experience in a SNF, LTC, or rehab facility required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Proficiency in LTC clinical skills required, including trach management, Foley care, wound care and dressing changes, IV starts and management, and tube feedings
• Must provide at least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before being eligible

Additional Information

• Care responsibilities include managing tracheostomy patients (orientation refresher provided), wound care, IV therapy, tube feedings, and Foley catheter care
• Admissions are handled by the admin nurse, averaging 1–2 per day
• Departmental orientation is 2 days
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Scrub color for LPNs is ceil blue (RN scrub color not specified)
• Free parking is available on-site
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
