American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in Maine, requiring an active ME or compact RN license and at least 1 year of emergency nursing experience.

• Emergency Department (ED) setting at a hospital in Maine
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Maine RN license or compact RN license required
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of emergency nursing experience required
• Current, unexpired BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Required immunizations: Varicella (2 doses or titer), Hep B (3 doses, titer, or signed declination), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, and PPD 2-step or titer within the past 12 months
• Flu shot required during flu season
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs
• Must have visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments across all age groups
• Develops and implements individualized plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders
• Responsible for medication administration, patient education, discharge planning, and follow-up calls
• Participates in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and bedside rounding with hospitalists and case managers
• Expected to contribute to hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
• May be called upon to participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and real-life disaster response
• Traveler reports to Human Resources on day 1 for onboarding
• Possible exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and toxic cleaning chemicals
