American Traveler is hiring an experienced Surgical Services CVOR Tech (RN) for a weekend-only cardiovascular OR position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and proficiency in a wide range of complex cardiac and vascular procedures.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) of an acute care hospital setting
• Performs a broad range of complex cardiac and vascular procedures including CABG, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, mitral valve replacement, aortic dissection repair, VAD, heart and lung transplant, carotid endarterectomy, AAA repair, robotic-assisted cardiac surgery, laparoscopic cardiac surgery, atherectomy, atrial septal defect repair, cardiomyoplasty, pericardial window, and femoral popliteal bypass graft
• Receives pump lines from perfusion and prepares them for cannulation
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Friday through Sunday
• On-call requirement: 90–120 hours of call per 6-week schedule
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
• Charting via Cerner EMR is required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand (IN Periop/OR travelers are exempt from the general IN RN restriction and are eligible for this position)
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
• NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of CVOR/cardiovascular OR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Vascular and thoracic surgery case experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they have Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Local candidates are accepted for this Periop Surgical Services position
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month gap before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All certifications must be current at time of consideration
