American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Tech for a CVOR position at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of CVOR experience and NBSTSA or NCCT certification.

• Work setting is a 672-bed short-term acute care Magnet hospital with Level III Trauma and teaching designations
• CVOR unit with 6 total ORs: 4 standard ORs, 1 hybrid OR, and 1 peripheral vascular (PV) room
• Required cardiac cases include CABG (on/off pump), AVR, MVR, TVR, aortic aneurysm/dissection, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive valve replacement, and transcatheter mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacement
• Required vascular cases include open and endovascular procedures: AAA, thoracic/thoracoabdominal aneurysm (including fenestrated grafts), endarterectomy, bypass for peripheral artery disease, amputation, and ECMO decannulation and repositioning
• Preferred case experience includes general, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, bariatrics, and transplant
• Shifts available: Days (6:45–15:15) and Evenings (14:45–23:15), 5x8-hour shifts
• An additional mid-shift option of 9:30–18:00 is available
• On-call required: up to 2 weekdays per week, up to 2 weekends per month, and holiday call as needed
• Charting is performed in Epic/Excellian; experience is required
• Facility-provided scrubs for this position
• No floating within the hospital or to sister facilities

Requirements

• Active MN Surgical Tech license required; pending licensure not accepted
• Valid national certification required: NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT (Tech in Surgery – Certified)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR scrub tech experience required
• Required CVOR case experience: AAA repair, atrial septal defect repair, carotid endarterectomy, CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, TAVR, VAD, and ECMO
• Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been gone for at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible
• Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
• RTO requests should not exceed 5 days for the duration of the contract
• Holiday call coverage is required as needed
• Parking is available at a flat rate of $0.55/hour
