American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery (Birth Center) position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience including LDRP, with night shift availability and the ability to circulate C-sections and catch babies.

Details

• Work in a hospital Birth Center unit
• Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 8 postpartum/antepartum beds (including 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 OR), and a 6-bed Level II NICU — 20 beds total
• Patient population includes laboring, antepartum, and postpartum mothers as well as newborns
• EMR: Epic experience preferred
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of total L&D experience; at least 1 year must be in an LDRP setting
• Proficiency in cervical exams, antepartum care, labor management, amnioinfusion, epidural assistance, fetal monitoring, IV placement, and Pitocin administration
• Comfortable with all aspects of postpartum care from newborn transition through discharge for both mother and baby
• Must be able to circulate C-sections
• Must be able to perform baby catching/receiving
• Knowledge of APGAR scoring and breastfeeding support required
• Scrub experience preferred
• At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge RN, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start

• Teal scrubs are provided by the facility
• NP is available on call for support
• Multilingual skills in Russian or Spanish are preferred given the patient population
