Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiation Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and Varian TrueBeam proficiency for a 13-week contract at a multi-site cancer institute in the Treasure Valley, Idaho area.

Details

• Work setting is an outpatient Radiation Oncology department within an acute care cancer institute
• Primary base location is in Nampa, ID with potential floating to other Treasure Valley sites (Boise, Meridian, Fruitland)
• Department equipment includes Varian TrueBeam and Trilogy linear accelerators, CT simulators, and Siemens/Toshiba equipment
• Linear accelerators available across sites: 2 in Boise, 2 in Meridian, 1 in Nampa, 1 in Fruitland, and 2 in Twin Falls; CT simulators at each site
• Treatment modalities include 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and SRT/SRS; CT simulation performed on a rare occasion
• Typical patient volume is 20–40 treatments per day depending on site, with at least 2 treating therapists on each shift
• Uses ARIA for record and verify (EMR) and Epic for electronic medical records
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday; variable start times between 0600–0900; treatment hours typically 0800–1630
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• No on-call or standby requirements

Requirements

• Active ARRT (Radiation Therapy) certification required; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience required
• Varian TrueBeam experience required for Treasure Valley (Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Fruitland) positions
• Proficiency with ARIA (record and verify EMR) required
• Varian Trilogy experience required for Twin Falls; preferred for Treasure Valley positions
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• IV experience preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Administer radiation treatments using advanced modalities including IMRT, SBRT, and SRT/SRS
• Each shift is supported by an on-site lead or supervisor; department manager is also available remotely
• Radiation Oncology team includes 5 oncologists and 2 midlevel providers across the Treasure Valley, and 2 providers at Twin Falls
• Orientation consists of approximately 1 shift per site depending on floating expectations
• Travelers are expected to be flexible with scheduling to fill gaps in permanent staffing; no blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
• Clean, neat scrubs of any color or appropriate pattern; business casual also acceptable
• A clinical pre-screen interview with the manager is required
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
