American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 36-bed Pulmonary unit in Tuscaloosa, AL, with a required AL or compact RN license and at least 2 years of nursing experience.

Details

• 36-bed inpatient Pulmonary/Telemetry unit (6 South) focused on diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders and lung diseases or injuries
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Required to work every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required as assigned
• Floating to other units and hospitals within the health system is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

Requirements

• Active Alabama RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted, and no license hits (past or current) allowed
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Pulmonary nursing
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate's degree in nursing or higher required
• NURSYS license verification required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references within the last year required for consideration

• This unit collaborates closely with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy — nurses are expected to apply both general medicine knowledge and respiratory specialty skills
• A Cardiac Exam will be required upon offer acceptance
• No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
• Timekeeping is managed through Centricity
• Solid navy scrubs required
