American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a large breast center in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Large breast center with an average of 10 technologists on site per day
• Average patient volume of approximately 38 screening mammograms and 18 diagnostic mammograms per day
• Procedures performed include stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast enhanced mammography
• Equipment used includes GE Senographe Pristina
• Documentation systems include Cerner and Penrad
• Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with Saturdays 8:00 AM–4:30 PM as needed
• May be required to float to other breast centers as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience, with active experience within the last 6 months
• ARRT (R) and (M) Mammography certification required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of start)
• Per MQSA standards: documentation of initial 40 hours of mammography training, current continuing education, up-to-date case numbers (200 cases per 2 years), 8 hours of digital mammography training, and 8 hours of digital tomosynthesis training required
• Proficiency in screening mammograms and additional imaging views including magnification and spot compression
• Experience with advanced mammography imaging and ability to demonstrate complex mammographic cases to radiologists
• IV certification and competency in invasive and sterile procedures required
• Experience working in a women's imaging center and sensitivity to patients with a history of cancer, lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation
• License required if applicable
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Pink top and black pants are the required dress code
• Any missing MQSA documentation may require onsite training to be completed before performing mammograms on patients
• Candidates must have no gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
