American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant for a cardiovascular OR role requiring active GA or compact licensure and CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSA certification with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• CVOR setting within a hospital surgical services department
• Patient population includes cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical cases
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekends required only during on-call rotations
• Call requirements include 1 day per week and approximately 1 weekend every 4 weeks, subject to change based on departmental needs
• Floating within scope of practice within the facility, including to the Main OR as needed
• No alternate shifts or special scheduling requests are permitted

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• One of the following certifications required: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), NBSTSA, or NCCSA
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Experience in cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical settings required
• Copies of all applicable certifications required for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

Additional Information

• This position requires a privileging process that takes approximately 120 days from contract signature before the start date — candidates should plan accordingly
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; no RTO is permitted during the first week
• No holiday RTO will be accepted if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period; if three major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
