American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of EP Lab experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a top-ranked heart and vascular teaching hospital in Washington, DC.

Details

• Work in an EP Lab at a 748-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital ranked among the top 50 heart and vascular centers in the country
• Procedures include cardiac electrophysiology studies, head-up-tilt tests, cardioversion, internal loop recorder placement, atrial flutter/fibrillation ablations, SVT ablations, VT ablations, and device implants/explants (Watchman, Aveir, pacemaker, defibrillator, lead extractions)
• Average daily caseload of 18 cases
• Charting performed in Cerner and GE Cardiolab; Cerner experience is required
• Medications administered via Pyxis
• 36-hour work week with day shifts; schedule includes 2 days of late case coverage per week (11:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
• No on-call or weekend requirements
• No floating requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of EP Lab clinical experience required
• Active ACLS, BLS, CCI RCES, and CCI RCIS certifications required
• ARRT (R) and Fluoroscopy Permit preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR required
• Required equipment experience includes Philips or Siemens X-ray machine and GE Micropacer
• Preferred equipment experience includes 3D mapping systems (Biosense, Abbott/ESI), GE/Abbott EP4, ViewMate ultrasound, Siemens or GE ultrasound, and laser lead machine
• Required skills include hemodynamic monitoring, EP ablations, EKG interpretation (inpatient/outpatient), vital sign acquisition, and sinus node rhythm recognition
• Preferred skills include groin closure devices, peripheral procedures, and laser lead extraction
• Trauma or children's hospital experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must pass a Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms prior to start
• License required if applicable — DC license must be in hand at time of consideration (some units may accept a pending DC license)
• Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted provided they meet the EP Lab experience requirement
• Candidates with previous employment at this facility must have been separated for a minimum of 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; RTO must be submitted at the time of initial consideration and cannot exceed 7 days for the 13-week contract
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; a candidate's address must match their driver's license to determine local status
• Scrubs are provided
• Flu vaccine is required for all employees at this facility
• Facility-specific compliance modules must be completed within one week of signing the contract
• Labs and DS appointment must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
