American Traveler is hiring a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) with at least 1 year of sleep tech experience for a 13-week night shift contract in an acute care hospital outpatient sleep lab.

Details

• Hospital outpatient sleep lab located off-campus from the main hospital in a lower-level clinic setting
• 10-bed sleep lab, with 2 beds available for pediatric testing
• Patient population includes adults and pediatric patients; standard tech-to-patient ratio is 2:1, except for patients under age 3 which is 1:1
• Procedures include diagnostic sleep testing and all PAP therapy titrations
• Charting system: Epic (EMR); also uses Natus XLTech Sleep Works and ResMed S9 devices
• 3x12-hour night shifts per week; lab operates Sunday–Thursday, so shifts will fall on these days
• Shifts are not always consecutive and may be split (not always three in a row)
• No floating to other units or departments
• No on-call requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of sleep technology experience
• RPSGT and BLS certifications required
• License required if applicable
• 2 current references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the position's specialty within the last 3 years
• Copies of active certifications required for consideration; no pending certifications accepted

Additional Information

• Daily duties include patient check-in, room setup, patient hookup, charting, and equipment cleaning
• Limited scoring is performed during data collection
• Orientation consists of modified EMR training and one shift with another sleep tech
• Gray scrubs required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
• Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are eligible and accepted for this position
• Secured building entrance; flat lot parking available directly outside the building; no cafeteria on site
