American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist for a Neurodiagnostic unit in Charlotte, NC, with a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience and proficiency in 10/20 electrode placement and continuous EEG setup.

Details

• Neurodiagnostic unit within a 337-bed hospital designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center (not trauma designated)
• Serves both pediatric and adult patients, including inpatient and outpatient populations
• Common diagnoses include seizures, altered mental status, epilepsy, stroke, 24-hour continuous EEG, and 24–72 hour ambulatory EEG
• Average caseload of 5–8 patients per technologist per day
• Other EEG Technologists are on-site until 5:00 PM; technologist works independently after that
• 8-hour evening shifts, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, 40 hours per week
• No weekend rotation; call coverage applies instead
• 4 call shifts per 6-week schedule, which can fall on any day of the week
• Rare possibility to float to nearby sister facilities, typically with advance notice
• Uses Epic EMR and Natus EEG machine

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience in EEG or neurodiagnostics
• Most recent experience must be within the last year
• Current BLS certification required
• REEGT certification from ABRET preferred but not required
• License required if applicable
• Proficiency in 10/20 electrode placement, electrode application, recording and measuring, pattern recognition, continuous EEG setup, and photic stimulation
• Pediatric experience preferred
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the past year
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted only with 3 or more years of experience
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent employees of any Advocate Health Southeast facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
• Orientation includes a facility NEO and up to 2–3 weeks of unit orientation alongside a permanent staff member
• Support team includes a Chief Tech available Monday–Friday, RRT, Hospitalists, Rapid Response/Code Team, and an outpatient scheduler
• Holiday and call coverage requirements are distributed among department staff
• Scrub colors: Galaxy Blue top and Black bottoms
