American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech) with 2+ years of experience performing both adult and pediatric echocardiography at an acute care hospital in Decatur, IL.

Details

• Work setting is a 372-bed acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
• Department serves both adult and pediatric echo patient populations
• Adult echo procedures include Bubble Study, Contrast Agent Imaging, M-Mode, Pharmacologic Stress Echo, Portable Studies, RVIT, RVOT, Routine Echo, TEE, and Treadmill Stress Echo
• Pediatric echo procedures include M-Mode, Portable Studies, RVIT, RVOT, and Routine Echo
• Experience performing procedures on patients in ICU and ED settings required
• Charting is performed in Cerner
• Schedule is a mix of 4x10-hour and 5x8-hour day shifts with 7:00–7:30 AM start times, determined by department needs
• On-call is required approximately every 2nd to 4th weekend and one weekday per week, subject to change based on department needs
• Floating within scope to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals is required for all travelers
• Free parking is available with a permit obtained during orientation

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of echo tech experience required
• Active ARDMS and RDCS certifications required
• Active BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Experience with both adult and pediatric echocardiography required
• Must be available to work on-call shifts including weekends and weekdays
• License required if applicable
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
• Must be in Illinois at least 3 business days prior to compliance hard deadline to meet fingerprinting requirements
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Siemens equipment experience is preferred
• Scrubs are provided
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO may be accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the start of the contract
• Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
