American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for a free-standing emergency department setting, requiring ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Free-standing emergency department (FSED) with a 10-bed ED, averaging 15 ED visits per day
• Ultrasound department performs an average of 5 studies per day
• Patient population consists of ED patients only
• 8-hour evening shifts, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• Night shift sonographer supports ultrasound needs across two FSED locations
• No weekend rotation and no on-call requirements
• 75% of holidays required
• EMR: Epic; RIS: Epic Radiant; PACS: Philips iSite
• Equipment includes Siemens Sequoia ultrasound systems and Trophon device

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ultrasound/sonography
• ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
• Current BLS required
• Proficiency in general ED ultrasound imaging
• Active license required, if applicable
• Must reside 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform general ED ultrasound imaging as the primary responsibility
• Expected to assist with patient care duties when not performing imaging, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, lab and line patients, and sitting with psych patients as needed
• May assist DX/CT technologists with patient transport and movement during busy periods
• Additional skills including EKG and general vitals can be taught during orientation
• Teamwork with staff across specialties and modalities is expected
• Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) and up to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed
• This is a newly opened facility (opened December 2024)
• Black scrubs required
