American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in complex congenital heart defects for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Pediatric echocardiography unit within a children's hospital setting
• Daily caseload of 4–10 studies per tech
• Pediatric patient population with complex congenital heart disease and defects
• 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with staggered start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
• No weekends or holiday coverage required
• Floating required between the main children's hospital and a North Charleston clinic location
• Epic EMR; experience preferred
• GE Vivid 95 and PACS system experience preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer with pediatric echo expertise
• ARDMS certification with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) credential, OR CCI certification with RCCS credential — all certifications must be in hand at time of start
• Pending state license accepted for consideration; license required if applicable
• BLS (AHA only) required
• Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms and extensive knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
• All staff and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams; travelers should be aware that hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September
