American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a Medical Oncology unit, caring for adult and geriatric solid tumor patients with at least 2 years of nursing experience required.

Details

• Inpatient Medical Oncology unit within a cancer hospital and research center
• Cares for adult and geriatric patients across the full spectrum of solid tumor cancers, including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal, and patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy
• Patient ratio goal is 1:4, with a potential of 1:5 based on unit needs
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Schedule is variable with no set or blocked scheduling; shift assignments are reassessed every 4-week scheduling period
• Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit needs
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units
• Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills required
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

• Unit provides care for all solid tumor cancers from new diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life transition
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• First week of orientation is Monday–Friday on day shift; second week consists of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
• Self-scheduling requests are submitted prior to the final schedule being balanced and posted
• If accepting a rotating day/night contract, shifts may include nights or a mix based on department priorities
• No required break between assignments when changing representation at this health system (excluding Sterile Processing Techs)
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
