American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Renal Unit night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year of recent renal or med/surg tele specialty experience.

Details

• 36-bed Renal Unit in a hospital setting caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease
• Patient care includes post-hemodialysis monitoring and ongoing peritoneal dialysis management
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Collaborative team environment working alongside nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospitals required
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required for consideration)

Requirements

• Active AL state RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with consideration given to candidates with at least 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Renal specialty required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) minimum
• NURSYS verification required
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients with kidney-related conditions, supporting them from diagnosis through treatment
• Virtual orientation provided; competency-based modules completed during orientation — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
• A Cardiac Exam will be required upon offer acceptance
