American Traveler is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician for a night-shift, Monday–Friday position at an acute care hospital in Oregon, requiring national certification and a minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience.

Details

• Works in the Sterile Processing department of an acute care hospital
• Daily responsibilities rotate between decontamination and staging/assembly of surgical instruments
• Uses Epic EMR; experience is required
• Night shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (11:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• May be required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction

Requirements

• National sterile processing certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA required
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience in a healthcare facility
• Epic EMR experience required
• BLS certification (AHA Traditional only; RQI not accepted)
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• COVID vaccination proof required; no exemptions
• License required if applicable
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references are not acceptable
• Full date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Work history covering the last 7 years, including city and state, dates of employment, and PTO periods, is required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must achieve a score of 85% or higher on required Relias competency exams
• Non-billable orientation modules averaging approximately 2.25 hours are completed prior to the start date
• A comprehensive lifetime background review is conducted using the Advanced Reporting system; this process may be extensive and take additional time
• Candidates with prior employment or travel assignments at this facility must have a reference completed by the OHSU manager who previously supervised them, and must have been gone for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be disclosed upfront and may not exceed 2 weeks for the duration of the contract
