American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Tech II with a minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience for an acute care hospital position in West Allis, WI.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based GI/Endoscopy unit with 3 procedure rooms and 12 Day Surgery rooms
• Level IV Trauma Center
• 8-hour day shifts with start times between 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM
• Average of 20–30 cases daily
• Patient types include upper/lower GI endoscopy, bronchoscopy (6–8 per week), capsule endoscopy, ERCP, and ION bronchoscopies
• Pre-op patient ratio of 1:2–3; Post-op/Phase II ratio of 1:3
• On-call required once every 5th weekend (Friday through Monday morning) and 1–2 days per week, with a 30-minute response time
• Holiday call coverage required if the holiday falls on your scheduled on-call weekend
• May float to Day Surgery on a rotational basis
• EMR: Epic
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, ERBE, cautery, banding kits, Heme Spray, and ERCP equipment

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Proficiency in ERCP, first assist positioning, scope processing, and scrubbing and circulating cases
• Knowledge of equipment used in GI/endoscopy procedures
• Active license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Anesthesia present for approximately 95% of cases; RT and Hospitalist available 24/7
• Unit support includes a Receptionist/HUC and a Charge Nurse who takes patient assignments
• Orientation is 5 days
